Q: What is the difference between the Health Center and the Wellness Center?
A: The Health Center is where student receive primary medical care. The wellness center is a resource center for health education.
Q: Are Internships available?
A: Yes, Wellness Services do offer internship opportunities each semester. Interns receive leadership and program training, can earn stipend and credits, make campus connections and have fun!
Q: Who is eligible for services at USU Health Services
A: All students currently enrolled at USU are eligible for medical care at Health & Wellness Center, regardless of insurance status (including students without insurance coverage).
Q: What types of medical problems can the Health & Wellness Center treat? What happens if the Health and Wellness Center can't take care of my problems?
A: The medical staff include nurse practitioners, physician assistants and board certified family physicians. The medical staff can take care of most problems that you would normally be seen for at your family or primary care physician. If we can not take care of problem, you can be referred to a specialist in the community.
Q: Where is Health and Wellness Center located and when is it open?
A: The Student Health and Wellness Center is located at 850 East 1200 North, just north of Romney Stadium. We are on the East side of the large stadium parking lot. There is plenty of free parking in front of the Health and Wellness Building, or you can take the Stadium Express shuttle bus, which stops right out front of the Health Center.
Q: Can I walk in without an appointment?
A: Yes, but it is preferred that you make an appointment to be seen in a timely manner. Please call (435)-797-1660 to make an appointment.
Q: Can I get medication at the Health & Wellness Center?
A: There is a dispensary at the Health & Wellness Center that stocks a limited variety of prescription and non-prescription medication for USU students. Additionally, clinicians can write prescriptions for medications that are not stocked.
